Our live telephone answering team will answer calls in your company name in a friendly and professional manner to create the right image for your business. The receptionist team is based in the UK and do not have any regional accents. They have an advanced call answering system to present them with information on your business when they answer a call for you. This allows the receptionist to:
  • answer in your company name
  • have brief details about the nature of your business
  • know the names of the people in your business
  • take a message with the caller’s details
  • email the message to you immediately (and text you if you wish)
A virtual phone number for your business with calls routed to any UK landline or mobile. Any UK area code, and combine different area codes to create a presence in various cities or towns.
Many of our customers do not get calls out of hours so, to keep the cost of the standard service down, we have a simple message after 6pm saying that "our office is now closed, the office hours are 08.30 to 18.00 Monday to Friday. Please call back during office hours". If you do expect to get some calls out of hours we can provide a voicemail to email system with a greeting in your company for £7.50 per month.  Any messages are stored electronically and emailed to you immediately as a WAV file attachment. We have some customers with more advanced out of hours systems.  For instance, a property management company plays the caller a greeting with several options along the lines of "press 1 for electrical problems, press 2 for water problems...".  Based on which option is selected the call routes to the appropriate engineer on call.   Our customer can even use a web interface to the system to change the mobile number of the engineer on call.  If you would like to discuss how a similar system could work for you please contact us.
We also provide automated answering systems. The system plays a greeting to the caller and routes the calls depending on the callers choice from a number of options. Calls can route to voicemail, landline, mobile, or our receptionist service. Many customers combine our automated and live telephone answering services. Some have automated first if there are a high proportion of calls that can be given an automated answered, eg. opening hours for a restaurant, with one option going to the receptionist team. Others have the live telephone answering during the day and an automated system out of hours, for instance a property letting agency with emergency contact details at night.

Our receptionists are ready to answer your calls from 08.30 to 18.00 Monday to Friday. Some customers like to answer calls themselves when they are available and divert to us when they are not, while others ask us to take all their calls. It is your choice.

There are a number of different telephone answering services in the UK catering to different requirements.  We are exclusively focused on the small business sector and most of our customers have less than 5 people.

As a result, most want a straightforward business answering service and many do not get calls out of hours, but if you need call handling out of hours please see details of our call handling out of hours options.

Messages

The receptionists will handle the call as you wish, typically by explaining politely that you are unavailable but they can take a message.

After making a note of the message they will read the caller’s number back to them to check it is correct.  They can also take the caller’s email address if you require it.

The message is sent to you immediately as an email, and as a text to your mobile if you wish.

In 2004 we tried to offer a service to everyone we spoke to but over time we realised that we were particularly suited to businesses with less than 5 people.
